Tags :SAARC GMR Group, GVK Group, Tata Group, Larsen & Toubro, Dnata and Changi Airports International are reportedly interested in bidding for the USD1 billion Navi Mumbai Airport greenfield project. Reliance Industries Ltd and Anil Ambani’s Reliance ADAG are also reportedly seeking international airport developers to form a consortium to bid for the project, and Tata group and CAI have formed a 51:49 JV for the airport. The Cabinet is expected to approve the project soon. The USD1 billion airport is expected to be completed by 2012, and will have capacity to handle 55 million passengers p/a, and accommodate the A380. However, GVK Group, which operates Mumbai International Airport, holds the first right of refusal for Navi Mumbai. If GVK’s bid is within 10% of the highest bid, it may match that figure. Shortly after Cabinet gives final approval, tenders are expected to be released. Date posted: 11-May-07 |
