The Lebanese national carrier announces that as of 22 June it will start operating a three weekly direct service between Brussels and Beirut.

Hamad Ghandour, representative of Middle East Airlines in Belgium, explains: "As of 22 June we will operate an evening flight to Beirut on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. All flights will be carried out with Airbus 320 seating 126 passengers, 24 of which are in Cedar Class. Flights are scheduled until end October but may be continued in the winter season”.

Middle East Airlines is generally considered a high-quality airline with an attractive service. In Beirut the carrier provides onward connecting flights to other destinations in the Middle East and Africa.

Direct flights between Brussels and Lebanon are not new. The same airline operated the Brussels-Beirut route until 1996. After a 13-year absence, MEA has chosen to re-open its route to the European capital.
