HSBC Bank USA (HSBC), part of one of the world's largest financial services companies, today announced Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the latest addition to the company's global airport branding strategy. As part of the five year agreement, the HSBC brand now features prominently across the interior and exterior of 17 jet bridges at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX, the seventh busiest airport in the world, with more than 59 million travellers last year.

JBT Corporation today announced that its JBT AeroTech business was awarded a contract by HMMH, the Construction Manager for the new Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal (MHJIT) at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The contract includes the supply and installation of 12 new Jetway® passenger boarding bridges and all associated ancillary equipment for the gates in the new Concourse 'F'.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ‘A-/A-2’ ratings and stable outlook on Auckland International Airport Ltd. (AIAL) are unaffected by AIAL's announcement that it has purchased a 24.55% stake in North Queensland Airports. We note that the agreement is subject to North Queensland Airports receiving financier consents before settlement. Although we expect the A$132.8 million purchase to further diversify AIAL's revenue base, we note that the majority of AIAL's revenue will remain linked to passenger numbers at Auckland Airport.

Auckland International Airport Limited (Auckland Airport) today announced it has agreed to purchase from Westpac Bank a 24.55% stake in North Queensland Airports (NQA), the operator of Cairns and Mackay airports in Queensland, Australia for A$132.8m (approximately NZ $166m).

In view of the large number of disruptions/cancellation of flights experienced during last couple of days at the IGI Airport, New Delhi, and the resultant cumulative effect, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) convened a meeting with all concerned here today .He stressed that a procedure be evolved wherein all concerned agencies take necessary steps to avoid passenger inconvenience during CAT IIIB operations.

Christchurch International Airport (CIAL) has had its carbon neutral status recertified by Landcare Research for the period from June 2008 to July 2009. The airport company met the caroNZero requirements for the third year in a row, after further reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating its unavoidable emissions for its operations.

During December 2009, total terminal passengers increased 0.4% compared to the previous year; domestic passenger traffic increased 1.8%, while international passenger traffic decreased 2.1% compared to December 2008.
